Dear ah gong,
I never had the chance of communicating with you, even when you’re alive. I never knew how to speak in khek. Although I know that you are able phrase sentences in English, attempting to speak to you was quite a pain. As a kid back then, hearing you stutter was annoying. But your face always held a beaming smile when you see your grandchildren.
I remembered when you came out from Malaysia to stay with us for a few days, you tripped over the plastic tree at the corner of the house. My sis and I were laughing at you. But learning that you fell and broke your leg, got hospitalised and passed away a few weeks later made me regret all I’ve ever done to you.
I’m really sorry and hope you’re having a great time in heaven.
From,
Charis
